Used for measuring the melt flow rate (MFR) and melt volume flow rate (MVR) of various plastics and resins in the viscous flow state at a certain temperature and load, per 10 minutes through a standard orifice. It is suitable for engineering plastics with higher melting temperatures such as polycarbonate, polyarylsulfone, fluoroplastics, and nylon, as well as plastics with lower melting temperatures such as polyethylene (PE), polystyrene (PS), polypropylene (PP), ABS resin, polyformaldehyde (POM), and polycarbonate (PC) resins. It is widely used in the plastic production, plastic products, petrochemical, and other industries.
Melt Flow Rate (MFR) refers to the extrusion rate of molten resin through a die of specified length and inner diameter under prescribed temperature, load, and piston position conditions. The mass extruded in a specified time is defined as Melt Mass Flow Rate (MFR), with units of grams per 10 minutes (g/10min); the volume extruded in a specified time is defined as Melt Volume Flow Rate (MVR), with units of cubic centimeters per 10 minutes (cm3/10 min). Melt Flow Rate can characterize the flow properties of thermoplastics in their molten state.
