Foam board surface pores (accompanied by pore rupture)

Foam board surface pores (accompanied by pore rupture)

In the production process of XPS, EPS, and PET extruded boards, surface pores and cracking in the extruded boards are common problems we encounter. For this, we have provided corresponding solutions for different causes.

1. Raw materials contain moisture: Replace the raw materials, or dry them.

2. Foaming agent injection is excessive: Reduce the amount of foaming agent injected based on the extruded plastic board parameters.

3. Caused by material cutoff or blockage: The raw materials do not meet the parameters and need to be replaced.

4. Melt material temperature is too high: Reduce the speed frequency of machine number two to cool down, or turn on the water cooling system to cool down.

5. If the melt flow rate is too low: Raw materials with a low melt index need to be selected.

6. Inhomogeneous mixing, insufficient nucleating agent distribution: Increase the mixing section, such as a static mixer.
