The foam board shows a wavy pattern on both sides

The board foam shows a wavy pattern on both sides

During the production process of XPS, EPS, and PET insulating foam boards, the wave-like texture appearing on both sides of the foam boards is a common issue we encounter. For this, we have provided corresponding solutions for different causes.

1. The leveling machine pressing plate is not properly adjusted: Re-adjust the height of the leveling machine pressing plate, gradually reducing the gap until it reaches the appropriate distance. Observe the forming condition of the extruded plastic board during this process, and the most suitable height is achieved when the wave pattern disappears.

2. If the mold opening is too small, causing insufficient material flow: Adjust the mold screws to increase the material output.

3. The temperature of the nozzle is too high: Reduce the temperature of the nozzle.

4. The material extrusion from the die is too fast: The die extrudes material too quickly, the traction press is set too deep, and the speed of the traction machine is slow, which does not match the material extrusion from the die, causing the material to accumulate in a wavelike pattern. Properly tighten the screws in the center of the die to reduce the amount of material extruded. Alternatively, appropriately adjust the height of the traction machine's rubber roller upward to increase the speed of the extruded board traction.
